What Bordeaux Is Like
Bordeaux got its name in 1886, when Dr. M.O. Randall, a dentist, said the area reminded him of the part of France where he had once practiced. The community grew up around the Hydes Ferry crossing on Hardins Bend, and Clarksville Pike later became the main route through it. Today you will find brick ranches and split-levels from the 1950s through the 1970s, older farmhouses, and newer subdivisions and townhomes.
Clarksville Pike and Buena Vista Pike carry most of the traffic into downtown, and Briley Parkway and I-24 are close. The Cumberland River wraps around much of the area, and Ted Rhodes Golf Course and the riverfront greenway are nearby for time outside.
