What West Meade Is Like

West Meade was once part of the land holdings of the Belle Meade Plantation. In the 1940s a large tract was sold off as West Meade Farms, and most of the neighborhood was built out after World War II. That is why so many streets are lined with one-story masonry ranches and split-levels set back on lots of a half acre or more, with mature trees and very little through traffic.

Harding Pike and White Bridge Pike put shopping and dining in Belle Meade, Green Hills, and Nashville West within a short drive, and I-40 is close for getting downtown. Edwin and Percy Warner Parks, the largest municipally managed parks in Tennessee, are just south of the neighborhood, and West Meade Park sits right in the middle of it.
