What Sylvan Heights Is Like
The Sylvan Heights name is fairly recent, and much of the neighborhood has been rebuilt over the last decade or so. Older one-story cottages and bungalows sit next to modern two-story homes and horizontal property regime (HPR) pairs on lots that were split for new construction. If you like the Sylvan Park location but want something newer, this is often where buyers end up looking.
Charlotte Avenue is the main street, and Sylvan Supply, a former industrial mill converted into shops, restaurants, and offices, sits near the border with Sylvan Park. You will also find breweries, a climbing gym, coffee shops, and local boutiques within a few blocks. I-40 is close for getting downtown or out to the west side.
