What Oak Hill Is Like
Oak Hill was incorporated in 1952 to keep its low-density, residential character, and it still has no commercial strip of its own. The city has its own mayor and commission and its own zoning, which keeps minimum lot sizes large. Homes range from mid-century ranches and traditional brick homes on an acre or more to newer custom homes, and the Tennessee Governor's Residence is on Curtiswood Lane.
Radnor Lake State Park is the big draw, with wooded hiking trails around the lake and a well-known wildlife population. Green Hills, Berry Hill, and Brentwood are all a few minutes away for shopping and dining, and I-65 runs along the east side of the city for an easy drive downtown.
