In May 2023, Nik Shewmaker of Nashville's Nik was the cover story of Nashville Real Producers, the magazine that profiles the top-producing real estate agents in the Nashville area.

Where the name "Nashville's Nik" comes from

The feature, written by Danielle Kidwell with photography by Julian Deloera, traces Nik's family roots in Nashville back to the Revolutionary War on both sides of her family. That history is what earned her the name "Nashville's Nik." Real estate runs in the family too: her grandmother sold real estate in the 1970s.

Local knowledge over national headlines

The article highlights Nik's belief that buyers and sellers should make decisions based on what is happening in their own neighborhood, not national news. She studies 90-day forecasts, days on market, and price reductions so her clients see the real picture before they buy or sell.

Saving a $2.3 million deal

Nik shared the story of a relocating buyer whose $2.3 million purchase nearly fell apart the day before closing after a third loan denial, with $350,000 in non-refundable earnest money on the line. She went all the way to the bank's CEO, the loan was brought in-house, and the deal closed 10 days later.
