What Inglewood Is Like

Much of Inglewood was developed in sections like Jackson Park, where developer Newman Cheek required brick or stone exteriors and approved building plans himself. That is a big reason so many homes here have solid masonry and a consistent look. Today you will see original cottages and ranches, plenty of renovations, and some newer homes mixed in.

Gallatin Pike is the main commercial strip, with vintage shops, restaurants, and the Inglewood Branch Library. Riverside Village on Riverside Drive has local dining, and Shelby Bottoms Greenway and Nature Park along the Cumberland River is close by for walking and biking. Downtown is about 15 minutes away by car outside rush hour.
