What Hermitage Is Like
Most of Hermitage was built from the 1970s on, so you will find a little of everything: brick ranches and split-levels, two-story homes in established subdivisions, townhomes, condos, and newer construction. Some neighborhoods sit right along the lake, and many subdivisions have an HOA, so it pays to check street by street.
J. Percy Priest Lake and its dam are the area's big outdoor draw, with boating, fishing, marinas, and greenway trails. The Hermitage, Andrew Jackson's home and museum, is right here, and Old Hickory Boulevard and Lebanon Pike have plenty of shopping and dining. I-40 runs through the area, and the WeGo Star commuter train stops at a Hermitage station on its way downtown.
