What Green Hills Is Like
Green Hills grew mostly after World War II. The original homes were largely brick ranches on big lots, many of them on septic before sewers came in later. Over the last couple of decades, many of those lots have been rebuilt with larger two-story homes, and you'll also find townhomes and condos closer to Hillsboro Pike. That mix means one street can have a 1950s ranch next to a brand-new build.
Day to day, Green Hills is one of the most convenient spots in Nashville for errands. The Mall at Green Hills, the Hill Center, grocery stores, and restaurants are all clustered along Hillsboro Pike, and the Bluebird Cafe sits in a strip center on Hillsboro Pike. Vanderbilt, Belmont, and Lipscomb are all a short drive away, and I-440 and I-65 are close for getting across town.
