What Antioch Is Like

Antioch grew around a Baptist church organized near Mill Creek in 1810, and the name dates to 1820. Most of its growth came from the 1970s on, as farmland turned into subdivisions. Today you will find 1970s and 1980s ranches and split-levels, 1990s and 2000s two-story homes, and a lot of newer construction, including townhome communities. Many subdivisions have an HOA, so it is worth checking each one.

The former Hickory Hollow Mall area, now called The Crossings, has been reworked with a Metro library and community center, a Nashville State Community College campus, and the Ford Ice Center. Mill Creek greenway segments run through the area, J. Percy Priest Lake is to the northeast, and I-24 makes the drive downtown or toward Murfreesboro straightforward outside rush hour.
